Man Uses Electric Dog Collar to Shock Kids - Comments from a Muskoxen

I just read this piece:

Father uses dog collar to shock kids

Here's the problem with it - he didn't use it as a device for discipline.

I mean, seriously, it is funny, but that can't be what you tell everyone. And this guy had it all wrong. You don't chase the kids around with them. You put it on the child and when they get out of line, then you shock them. Like when the dog barks, it shocks them. If you put it on your kid and they're not listening, you shock them. If they talk back, you shock them. If they poop on the floor, you shock them. That kind of thing.

But seriously, you can't be doing it to a three-year-old. You have to wait until they're at least four before they realize what's going on.

Chasing a kid with an electric dog collar as a threat does not work. You're spot on... it is a rookie mistake. This tactic is best used when the kids won't get out of a swimming pool. You need to employ something more like a plugged in toaster on a 50 foot extension cord. Watch those little bastards move when they see what happens to little Jimmy in the deep end.

Two things:

1. Brad, you're right on. Throwing a toaster into a pool will certainly get the kids moving.

2. The captcha that I just had to type in to comment was hharm. I thought it was funny given the topic.
