The Muskoxen

I'm sitting here watching a new TV show on Animal Planet called Stranger Among Bears.  I'd seen a news story done on this guy several months ago and I guess it's such an unbelievable story that people are clamoring for more.  Charlie Vandergaw  lives in a remote part of Alaska outside of Anchorage and welcomes bears (both of Black and Grizzly varieties) to his home as family.  He names them, talks to them, pets them, smacks them when they nip at him, feeds them out of his hand, lays with them, wrestles with them and the only protection he has is a stick.  He's done this for more than 20 years, and has seen several generations of bear families come through his home.  You can read all about it  and see pictures and videos on the Animal Planet's website here:

As a nature lover, I'm completely enthralled and suggest that you all check this out if you get a chance.  even if you're not a nature lover, I'd imagine you'll be amazed watching this show.
